A delegation from the China International Import Expo (CIIE) Bureau will be visiting Athens, Greece, on Dec 8 to promote next year's edition of the expo.

Led by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, over 60 Greek businesses from sectors such as tourism, navigation, energy and agriculture attended the second edition of the CIIE this year, conducting over 200 matchmaking events with their Chinese counterparts.

According to official statistics, China-Greece bilateral trade topped $7.06 billion in 2018, up 36.3 percent year-on-year.

The Business Exhibition of the next edition of the CIIE will comprise four themes - technology and equipment, consumer goods and intelligent life, food and agricultural products, and service and healthcare. 

Six exhibition areas will focus on trade in services, automobiles, consumer goods, intelligent industry and information technology, medical equipment and healthcare products, and food and agricultural products. 

Held from Nov 5 to 10, the second CIIE drew over 3,800 enterprises from 181 countries, regions and international organizations, with intended deals for one-year purchases of goods and services topping $71.13 billion, a sharp rise compared to last year.
